We developed SmartCanteen technology with a clear mission: to create user-friendly tech that makes people’s lives easier.
The story behind the logo of SmartCanteen. Ever heard the story about Columbus and the egg? At a fancy dinner, people were mocking him for his “discovery” of America, claiming anyone could have done it. This, of course, angered Columbus, so he challenged those present to place an egg on the table so that it would stand on its end. They tried and tried, but no one succeeded. Then Columbus took the egg in his hand and gently tapped it on the table, just enough to flatten it slightly – and of course, it stood on the table. In this way, he showed his critics the difference between those who “could have done it” and those who actually did it: “The difference between you and me is that I actually did it.” … and we actually did it also.

2015
Product founded
SmartCanteen technology was created in 2015 with a vision to become a leading provider of business management solutions for the hospitality industry.
2017
First installation for Slorest
A significant milestone was reached with the successful implementation of our solution at the first Slorest location, confirming the reliability and efficiency of our system.
2018
First installation for Sovita
We expanded our market presence by successfully integrating our solution at the first Sovita location, solidifying our position in the IT business solutions market for catering providers. By acquiring this important client, we ensured that our software solutions and cash registers are used by 80% of catering providers in Slovenian canteens.
2023 January
2 additional large clients signed
We signed contracts with two prestigious companies, Gostinstvo Bobnar and Perutnina Ptuj, which represents a significant endorsement of the quality of our solutions and opens up new business opportunities.
2024
AI development and integration
We initiated an ambitious project to develop and integrate artificial intelligence into our Eggmedia ERP and EggPOS solutions, further enhancing the efficiency and intelligence of our systems.
2025
Self-Service Checkout with Camera & Sales Expansion
Introducing of revolutionary self-service checkout with camera (AI Vision Checkout Terminal) and sales expansion to other European countries.
